Amplitude is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to join their AI Team in creating groundbreaking product experiences powered by intelligent agents. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of AI interfaces at a successful scale-up company.
The role combines frontend expertise with full-stack capabilities, focusing on creating intuitive and effective AI-powered user experiences. You'll be working with a small, high-context team that spans the entire LLM stack - from prompt design to infrastructure to customer-facing UX. The team prioritizes quality and learning over simply deploying models, with a strong emphasis on creating AI interfaces that truly enhance user experience.
What makes this opportunity special is Amplitude's strong position in the market. As a $300M+ ARR business, they have the resources and customer base to make a significant impact. The existing analytics infrastructure provides unique advantages for building useful AI products. This isn't a side project - there's serious organizational commitment and investment behind this initiative.
The team structure is intentionally lean and protected from organizational complexity, allowing for rapid iteration and close collaboration with Amplitude's co-founders. You'll have the freedom to work across the stack while focusing on frontend excellence, from system design to pixel-perfect implementation.
Key responsibilities include crafting responsive UI components that interact with LLMs, collaborating with backend engineers on infrastructure integration, and working closely with product and design teams. You'll help establish best practices for AI UX, including effective prompting, feedback mechanisms, and fallback handling.
The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of fullstack engineering experience, with a particular passion for frontend development and user experience. You should have strong product intuition, care deeply about design and usability, and be comfortable making smart tradeoffs in a fast-paced environment. Experience with AI/LLM applications or early-stage startup experience is a plus.
This role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of AI product development, working with a team that's betting on AI as the next chapter of Amplitude's growth. You'll have the chance to shape how AI is surfaced to users while working at a company with proven success and strong market position.
Benefits include competitive compensation, equity, and the opportunity to work closely with company founders in a focused team environment. The position is based in San Francisco, where you'll be part of a team that's leading Amplitude's evolution into an AI-native platform.
