This senior-level position requires expertise in COBOL programming, focusing on maintaining and modernizing critical mainframe systems. The role involves translating business requirements into programming solutions, maintaining custom software, and providing production support. Responsibilities For COBOL Mainframe Developer
- Translate analysis and design documents into well-structured programs
- Maintain and enhance custom developed software
- Conduct reviews of existing code, data, and business processes
- Execute test program changes and ensure correctness
- Identify and correct data errors through application logic
- Assist with conversion from COBOL application to web-based application
- Prepare program-level and user-level documentation
- Enhance software to reduce operating time and improve efficiency
Requirements For COBOL Mainframe Developer
- Minimum of 5 years experience in COBOL development on Mainframe, JCL development and maintenance
- Experience with COBOL, DB2, JCL, Control-M
- Understanding of full software development life cycle
- Ability to troubleshoot, test, and debug computer software
