AIML - Staff Machine Learning Engineer - ML Efficiency, ML Platform & Technology

Apple's Machine Learning Platform Technology & Infra team is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to shape the platform that enables the next generation of intelligent experiences on Apple products & services. The team has built the platform that Apple uses for developing machine learning, artificial intelligence, and computer vision applications.

In this role, you will focus on optimizing end-to-end system performance of distributed machine learning workloads, working closely with ML researchers and key partners across the company. Key responsibilities include:

• Analyzing workload metrics to identify inefficiencies and optimize ML workloads
• Conducting benchmarking analysis on deployed systems
• Improving large-scale training resiliency through application and framework optimization
• Influencing architecture and design of next-generation ML accelerator systems
• Engaging with ML researchers to optimize distributed ML workload performance

The ideal candidate will have deep understanding of machine learning systems and cloud computing infrastructure, with strong programming skills and experience in frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow. This is a highly collaborative role requiring excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with teams across Apple.
