Camera Image and Video Quality Engineer

Apple is seeking a Camera Image and Video Quality Engineer to join their Machine Learning and AI team in Cambridge, UK. This role is crucial in driving photo & video image quality and shaping the future of Apple's cameras.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to various camera technologies such as Portrait mode, new video features, and new photo capture methodologies
• Participate in quality evaluations for new features and algorithms through experimental studies in the lab and field
• Provide direct feedback to engineering teams
• Work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Required Skills:

• Practical experience in capturing, displaying, analyzing, and editing photos using tools like Lightroom, Apple Photos, and Photoshop
• Understanding of conventional camera pipelines and operations, including sharpening, HDR, and image fusion concepts
• Knowledge of image and video quality testing in the field
• Excellent sense of photography, videography, and cinematography on both technical and artistic levels
• Understanding of the Human Visual System and its impact on photo and video perception
• Experience with camera lab equipment and operating camera systems in a lab

• Effective communication and presentation abilities
• Experience with Python scripting and shell scripting
