Cellular PHY Systems Engineer

At Apple, we're looking for a dedicated Cellular PHY Systems Engineer to join our Hardware team. This role combines innovative wireless communication technology with hands-on system engineering, focusing on modem systems development.

As a Cellular PHY Systems Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of designing and simulating cutting-edge wireless communication features for 4G/5G/6G and proprietary air interfaces. You'll work closely with digital designers and firmware developers to implement control and signal processing algorithms that deliver optimal power and performance.

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in coding theory, wireless communication systems, and signal processing, along with practical experience in algorithm development using Matlab, C/C++, and Python. You'll need a BS degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

This position offers competitive compensation ranging from $147,400 to $272,100, along with comprehensive benefits including medical/dental coverage, retirement benefits, stock programs, and education reimbursement. You'll be based in either the San Francisco Bay Area or San Diego, working with world-class teams to develop groundbreaking Apple products.
