Job Description

At Apple, Quality is one of the cornerstones of what makes our products and technologies phenomenal. As a Core Technologies Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for driving quality improvement actions on future products. You will enable mass production capable manufacturing processes and develop plans to validate/verify new product quality at each development landmark. You will approach problems using engineering methods and make data-driven decisions. You will also be responsible for bringing up capable suppliers that can execute at a high level on an ongoing basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and drive quality improvement opportunities in future products
  • Lead Process FMEAs on new technologies and manufacturing processes
  • Lead technical Failure Analysis to support root cause analysis and issue resolution
  • Generate Product Quality Plan (PQP)
  • Establish quality monitoring mechanisms that generate insightful metrics
  • Develop/drive test correlation, metrology systems, sampling methods, and cosmetics requirements
  • Lead quality escalation and issues
  • Develop suppliers that can be both technology and scaling partners

Requirements For Core Technologies Quality Engineer

  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science or Industrial Engineering or equivalent
  • 8+ years experience in a technical domain, high volume manufacturing, or development of consumer electronics or components
  • Strong statistical and data analytics skills - statistical process control and sampling methods
  • Data driven and results oriented approach to problem solving, failure analysis techniques
  • Clear and consistent communication, including executive level presentation skills
  • Ability to drive multi-functional teams
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems, Design of Experiments, Reliability Methods/Models
