Description For iPhone System Technology Engineer - Power

The iPhone team is seeking a system-level design engineer with expertise in analog/mixed signals and DC-DC power converters. You will be part of a creative and collaborative engineering team responsible for developing innovative iPhone technologies. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire design lifecycle, including feature planning, prototyping, IC definition, testing and validation, factory support, and field support.

As a system-level design engineer, you are expected to bridge the gap between analog circuit design and higher-level system architecture. This entails a comprehensive understanding of analog circuits, including buck converters, linear regulators, oscillators, and analog-to-digital converters. Additionally, you should possess practical experience in addressing system-level challenges such as power management, interference mitigation, PCB layout optimization, and digital interface design.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan system/subsystem power and IO trees
  • Distill system requirements into PMIC definition and write its specifications
  • Conduct IC design reviews and bug tracking
  • Participate in IP development, schematic, and layout reviews
  • Assist in prototype bring-up and debugging
  • Provide support during production testing and system bug tracking
  • Verify functional and parameter characteristics, often using automation
  • Conduct signal characterization
  • Provide manufacturing support

This is an outstanding opportunity to engage in numerous multi-functional interactions with Apple's internal hardware/software teams, contract manufacturer teams, and IC vendor teams throughout the various development stages.
