Description For Mixed Signal Hardware Design Engineer

Apple's Wireless Hardware group is seeking a Mixed Signal Hardware Design Engineer to join their world-class RF hardware design team. This role focuses on developing groundbreaking wireless connectivity solutions across all Apple products, including WiFi, Bluetooth, UWB, NFC, and emerging technologies. The position involves working with cutting-edge system-on-chip designs and platform architectures that enable new user experiences through innovative sensor technology.

As a Mixed Signal Hardware Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for the design, implementation, and verification of digital and power portions of wireless designs. The role requires expertise in computer system architecture, digital design, and power distribution networks. You'll collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and work proactively to ensure seamless integration of various system components.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in protocol specifications, power management, and hands-on debugging experience. You'll work with state-of-the-art lab equipment and contribute to developing successful integration and verification plans with external chipset vendors. Responsibilities For Mixed Signal Hardware Design Engineer

  • Work closely with internal hardware, software and silicon teams to define system interconnects and power supplies
  • Implement product schematics and layout
  • Work with hardware and silicon teams to bring-up, characterize and validate new digital interfaces and protocols
  • Work with power supply application circuit design and validation
  • Work with external chipset vendors to develop integration and verification plans
  • International travel as needed (15%)

Requirements For Mixed Signal Hardware Design Engineer

  • B.S. and 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Good understanding of protocol specifications (PCIe, MIPI, I2C, SPI, UART)
  • Experience with power supply/power management and power distribution networks
  • Hands on debug experience with modern lab equipment
  • M.S.E.E. preferred
  • Experience in writing basic software routines and test scripts
  • Experience with mobile and embedded processors and memory systems
  • Experience with circuit schematic capture/layout
  • Ability to travel internationally
