Job Description

Apple's AI and Data Platforms team is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join their innovative group focused on building and managing cloud-based data platforms that handle petabytes of data at scale. This role combines software engineering expertise with platform reliability, requiring both technical depth and strong communication skills.

The position involves developing and operating large-scale big data platforms using open source solutions to support critical applications in analytics, reporting, and AI/ML. Key responsibilities include performance optimization, cost efficiency improvements, automation of operational tasks, and ensuring platform reliability through proactive problem-solving.

The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong programming skills in Java, Scala, Python, or Go, along with expertise in distributed data processing systems, particularly Apache Spark. They should have hands-on experience with table formats, data lake technologies, and a strong background in incident management.

This role offers competitive compensation ($147,400-$220,900 base salary) plus equity opportunities through Apple's stock programs.
