Senior / Staff Data Infrastructure Engineer for Lakehouse, Apple Data Platform

The Apple Data Platform team, part of the Services organization, powers analytics and machine learning across Apple. We're seeking a Senior/Staff Data Infrastructure Engineer to join our Data Lakehouse team, which provides a fully managed Lakehouse solution powered by Apache Iceberg and custom-built services. This role offers an opportunity to work on infrastructure that supports critical products including Siri, Search, Media, iCloud, News, Apple Intelligence, and Maps.

As a senior member of the team, you'll lead the development of our data lakehouse platform, working with cutting-edge technologies like Apache Iceberg, Spark, and Kubernetes. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing scalable solutions that handle exabyte-scale data processing while maintaining high reliability and security standards.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in distributed systems and data infrastructure with strong leadership abilities. You'll guide team members in their technical and professional growth while collaborating across functions to drive project success. Your work will directly impact Apple's ability to leverage data for innovation across its products and services.

This role offers competitive compensation including base pay between $171,600 and $302,200, plus equity opportunities through Apple's stock programs.
