Job Description

The Sensor Architecture team at Apple is a multi-disciplinary team that develops state-of-the-art technologies and sensor modules across Apple's product portfolio, including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, and more. As a Touch/Force Hardware - Sensor System Architect, you'll be responsible for architecting entire sensor systems for various products, defining key metrics, setting specifications, and ensuring optimal customer experience.

The role involves building comprehensive sensor models that capture the entire signal chain—physical, electrical, and algorithmic—to streamline algorithm prototyping and guarantee performance in high-volume production. You'll conduct first-principles physical modeling and analysis to understand design tradeoffs and develop optimal solutions.

Working closely with partner teams like display, wireless charging, and product design, you'll co-architect and assess design tradeoffs to ensure the best possible performance for the entire product. The position requires deep understanding of electrical engineering, transducer physics, and system engineering, along with proficiency in MATLAB and COMSOL.

This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge sensor technology that directly impacts millions of users across Apple's product line. You'll be part of a team that values innovation, technical excellence, and cross-functional collaboration. The role offers competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and the chance to contribute to next-generation Apple products.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, strong background in signal processing techniques, and experience in circuit simulation. You'll need to be able to add clarity to ambiguous design spaces, independently resolve technical issues, and align efforts across teams.
