Job Description

Applied Intuition is at the forefront of vehicle intelligence technology, serving both commercial and defense sectors. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll take on a role similar to a startup CTO, working in small teams and managing end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects. You'll serve as the technical bridge between Applied Intuition's innovative vehicle intelligence platforms and real-world operational environments.

The position combines technical depth with operational excellence, primarily focusing on defense and government customers. You'll be integrating our tools, Vehicle OS, and autonomy stacks with Department of Defense platforms in challenging operational environments. What sets this role apart is the ability to leverage robust commercial technology and a rapidly evolving product suite to deliver capabilities that traditional defense contractors would take years to develop.

The company, founded in 2017, has established itself as a trusted partner for 18 of the top 20 global automakers and major programs across the Department of Defense. Based in Mountain View, CA, with offices across the US and globally, Applied Intuition delivers the definitive ADAS/AD toolchain and world-class vehicle platform.

This role requires a unique combination of software engineering expertise, system integration capabilities, and strong communication skills. You'll be working in a dynamic environment where you'll need to adapt to changing requirements while maintaining focus on delivering successful outcomes. The position offers comprehensive benefits including competitive base salary ($145,000-$200,000), equity opportunities, full health coverage, 401k with employer match, and various stipends for learning and wellness.

The role requires U.S. citizenship and security clearance eligibility, reflecting the sensitive nature of the work with defense and government clients. You'll be part of a team that includes veterans from leading technology and defense companies, working to accelerate the deployment of next-generation autonomous capabilities to the warfighter across air, land, sea, and space.
