Job Description

Aptiv, a global technology leader in automotive solutions, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their Signal & Power Solutions segment in either Troy, MI or Champion, OH. This role is part of the Consumer Connectivity product portfolio, focusing on designing and developing electronic products for automotive applications. The position involves working with advanced technologies including switch mode power supplies, inverters, LVDS transceivers, HDMI receivers, and wireless communications.

The role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, developing cutting-edge connectivity solutions. You'll be responsible for designing products that meet customer requirements, developing schematics, overseeing PCB layouts, and managing validation processes. The position requires strong technical skills in embedded systems, circuit design, and automotive electronics.

Responsibilities For Electrical Engineer

  • Work directly with automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to design products
  • Develop product schematics and oversee PCB layouts
  • Complete peer reviews and create change documentation
  • Develop new circuit building blocks and evaluate new components
  • Work with supply chain management for cost analysis
  • Negotiate design validation plan with customers
  • Perform simulations and worst case circuit analysis
  • Perform bench level debugging, testing and prototyping
  • Provide risk assessment and root cause analysis
  • Work with validation team for Design Validation and Product Validation
  • Mentor other department Electrical Engineers

Requirements For Electrical Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Previous experience with embedded microcontroller design
  • 1-4 years relevant electronics design experience
  • Experience with analog/digital design and simulation
  • Knowledge of RFI, EMI and ESD compliance
  • Experience with design validation and test planning
  • Experience with simulation and schematic capture tools
  • Experience using bench equipment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
