Description For Computer Vision Engineer

Aquabyte is revolutionizing the aquaculture industry through innovative technology solutions, focusing on making fish farming more sustainable and efficient. As a Computer Vision Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge algorithms that directly impact global food production and environmental sustainability.

The role involves working with a sophisticated system that combines underwater cameras, computer vision, and machine learning to monitor and analyze fish populations in real-time. You'll be responsible for developing software and ML models that can accurately measure fish weights, assess health status, and generate optimal feeding plans. The technology stack spans from on-site hardware to cloud processing pipelines and web applications.

The position requires strong expertise in computer vision and machine learning, with particular emphasis on stereo vision, 3D reconstruction, and deep learning. You'll be working with Python and PyTorch, deploying models in resource-constrained environments, and collaborating with a team of experienced engineers.

What makes this role particularly exciting is its direct impact on global sustainability. Aquaculture is the fastest-growing food-production sector globally, and your work will help define how technology shapes the future of sustainable seafood production. The company offers a collaborative environment with opportunities to work alongside industry experts and potentially travel to Norway.

The compensation package is competitive, ranging from $110,000 to $165,000, complemented by generous equity and comprehensive benefits. Based in Pittsburgh with remote work options, this role offers the perfect blend of technical challenge and meaningful impact. You'll be joining a diverse, mission-driven team backed by respected investors like NEA and Costanoa Ventures, working on technology that's actively shaping the future of sustainable food production.
