Archon is seeking a founding infrastructure engineer to join our mission of securing America's public software infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity to shape the architecture and implementation of systems that streamline federal compliance processes, particularly FedRAMP.
As a founding engineer, you'll work directly on building and maintaining cutting-edge automated systems that are critical to national cybersecurity. The role demands exceptional technical talent combined with the ability to navigate complex regulatory requirements including FedRAMP, DoD SRG, DISA STIG, and NIST 800-53.
We're looking for someone who thrives in an intense, fast-paced environment and isn't afraid to tackle complex technical challenges. You'll have complete ownership over critical systems and the autonomy to make significant technical decisions that will shape the company's future.

Our technical stack includes modern open-source technologies like Kubernetes and Jenkins, infrastructure-as-code tools including Docker, Helm, and Terraform, and cloud platforms (Azure and AWS). You'll be working with Alpine Linux and implementing sophisticated security protocols.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Strong software development experience, particularly with languages like Java, C, or Go
- Deep knowledge of infrastructure as code and container orchestration
- Experience with cryptographic protocols and security standards
- System administration expertise on Linux systems

Responsibilities For Founding Engineer, Infrastructure
- Building highly-available systems to orchestrate software deployment
- Launching end-to-end infrastructure lifecycles from scoping to deployment
- Balancing high speed with maintaining strict security and compliance standards
- Developing foundational infrastructure that will be deployed across multiple production environments
Requirements For Founding Engineer, Infrastructure
- U.S. Citizenship Required
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) including Docker, Helm, Jenkins, and Terraform
- Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Strong software development experience with proficiency in languages like Java, C, or Go
- Familiarity with cryptographic protocols, standards, and authentication including TLS, x509, and FIPS
- Background developing automation solutions and CI/CD pipelines
- System administration experience on Linux and understanding of operating system fundamentals
