Description For FPGA Field Applications Engineer

Arrow Electronics is seeking a senior-level FPGA Field Applications Engineer to join their team in San Jose. This role combines technical expertise in FPGA design with customer-facing responsibilities, making it an ideal position for engineers who excel in both technical and interpersonal aspects.

The position involves working closely with Arrow's sales teams to provide technical expertise and guidance to customers in their FPGA selection and design processes. As a Field Applications Engineer, you'll be responsible for understanding customer requirements at both system and component levels, providing technical support, and ensuring successful implementation of FPGA solutions.

The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of electronic design experience, with strong expertise in FPGA design, including HDL, simulation, and verification. Knowledge of high-speed digital circuits and board design is essential, as is the ability to work independently while serving as a resource for less experienced colleagues.

This role offers an attractive compensation package ranging from $111,900 to $190,850 annually, along with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k matching, and tuition reimbursement. Responsibilities For FPGA Field Applications Engineer

  • Partner with Arrow sales teams in pre-and post-sales activities
  • Provide technical support and consulting for demand creation
  • Work with customers to understand design requirements at system and component level
  • Provide training to Arrow sales teams on new products
  • Manage supplier and customer relationships
  • Manage opportunities in assigned region
  • Help plan and organize engineering customer events
  • Prepare and give sales presentations
  • Meet with customers both on-site and virtually

Requirements For FPGA Field Applications Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer science
  • 5+ years of electronic design experience
  • Experience designing with FPGAs (HDL, Simulation, Verification)
  • Knowledge of FPGA IP instantiation and design generation
  • Skilled in FPGA system test, validation, and debugging methods
  • Understanding of high-speed digital circuits and board design
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Must be eligible for export license or be a U.S. Person
