Job Description

AspenTech, a global leader in industrial software, is seeking a Project Engineer II to join their Digital Grid Management (DGM) team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with leading utilities across the globe, implementing solutions that form the backbone of real-time operations for major utilities in the USA, Europe, India, and Australia.

The position involves end-to-end delivery of SCADA/EMS/GMS/ADMS projects using the monarch platform, including planning, design, integration, testing, training, and on-site commissioning. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in software engineering with a strong understanding of utility use-cases across electricity, gas, water, and renewables sectors.

As a Project Engineer II, you'll be responsible for deploying complex control systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and working directly with customers to ensure successful project implementation. The role requires a blend of technical skills in programming, database management, and system architecture, along with strong project management and communication abilities.

Responsibilities For Project Engineer II

  • Own troubleshooting efforts for discovered variances and deploy resolutions
  • Define project requirements through customer communication
  • Deploy complex and dynamic control systems
  • Provide networking and system/application design
  • Perform hardware, software, and system installation, integration, and testing
  • Customize system, hardware, and network configuration
  • Provide customer support and assistance
  • Create training materials and project documentation

Requirements For Project Engineer II

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering or related field
  • 1-5 years of experience
  • Basic knowledge of computer programming and scripting (Python, C / C++)
  • Basic knowledge of computer architectures, networking, databases, and operating systems
  • Experience with CAD, Visio or similar software
  • Experience with JSON, XML
  • Experience with common utility protocols
  • Excellent organization, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong commitment to providing superior customer service
  • Ability to work on several projects in parallel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability and flexibility to travel to customer sites
