Job Description

AutoScan UK Limited, leaders in quality inspection services for vehicles, is seeking an Automotive Manufacturing Systems Engineer for a full-time, 18-month contract position in Crewe, Cheshire, UK. This role is crucial in updating, integrating, and ensuring compatibility of new vehicle projects into production control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update and integrate new vehicle projects into production control systems
  • Manage Production Alignments to System Version List
  • Analyze and report production errors, with escalation of high-priority issues
  • Handle baseline importing, comparison, validation checking, and vehicle alignment
  • Create and update various production-related documents and configurations
  • Attend and represent the department in all applicable meetings

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Production Control processes and activities, including system operations. Experience with VW Group Systems is preferable.

Work Environment:

  • Based in Crewe at a prestigious automotive client's site with world-class manufacturing facilities
  • Working hours: Monday to Thursday 0700-1500, Friday 0700-1200
  • Early finish on Fridays
  • Free on-site car parking
  • Flexible start and finish times

Responsibilities For Automotive Manufacturing Systems Engineer

  • Update and integrate new vehicle projects into production control systems
  • Manage Production Alignments to System Version List
  • Analyze and report production errors, escalating high-priority issues
  • Handle baseline importing, comparison, validation checking, and vehicle alignment
  • Create exhaustion lists for use up changes
  • Create EZU/ZDC permitted deviations
  • Create and implement Production escalation sheets
  • Sign-off and log relevant permits
  • Compile and release Production ASV release to line and test MFTD's
  • Attend and represent the department in all applicable meetings
  • Perform Cut and Manifest System Updates
  • Handle DC Tooling updates

Requirements For Automotive Manufacturing Systems Engineer

  • Full understanding of Production Control processes and activities
  • Experience in production alignments to System Version List
  • Ability to analyze production errors and report findings accurately
  • Skills in baseline importing, comparison, validation checking, and vehicle alignment
  • Experience in creating and updating Production configuration files
  • Familiarity with GIT validation and donor UPS specification creation
  • Knowledge of Cut and Manifest System Updates
  • Experience with DC Tooling updates
  • Knowledge of VW Group Systems (Preferable)
