Axon's Real Time Operations division is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead their mission of providing best-in-class situational awareness software for emergency responders. This role focuses on building a fast and performant real-time crime center application that can process real-time signals from devices at scale. As a technical leader reporting to the director of engineering, you'll be instrumental in designing and implementing critical systems across cloud, web, and mobile platforms to help direct first responders effectively.
The position involves working with various teams to efficiently source real-time geo-located data from field devices like patrol cars, body cameras, and drones. You'll collaborate with communications teams on streaming real-time media feeds and work with application teams to integrate third-party data, ultimately bringing these feeds together on a single map to enable better decision-making and save lives.
The role requires strong technical leadership skills as you'll be advising on long-term technical initiatives and acting as a force multiplier, working closely with other senior engineers to guide and grow them. Your responsibilities include mentoring the next generation of senior engineers while balancing business and engineering priorities to achieve optimal outcomes.
