Staff Software Engineer, Intelligence Cloud

Azul, a trusted provider of Java solutions for millions of developers and top businesses worldwide, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Intelligence Cloud team. This SaaS product connects millions of JVM runtimes, collects and aggregates detailed information, analyzes code use, detects vulnerabilities, and provides code inventory.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll be part of a strong Java Backend agile team, working alongside Security Engineers, Data Scientists, and Application Developers. Your primary responsibilities include designing and implementing new features in Java, fixing bugs, and performing code reviews. You'll provide unique insights on cloud architecture and collaborate with Product Managers on initiatives and technical requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and implement new features in Java
• Provide insights on cloud architecture
• Lead professional discussions about product architecture and new functionalities
• Mentor team members and guide Software Engineers
• Translate complex requirements into designs
• Perform cost/benefit and trade-off analyses of design alternatives
• Recommend strategies for SaaS monitoring, performance improvements, and capacity planning

The ideal candidate should have 10+ years of experience in Java, covering technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, AWS, RDBMS, NoSQL, and messaging. You should also have at least 3+ years of architect or tech lead experience with customer-facing, large-scale, web-based products and experience in building high-load scalable applications in cloud environments.
