Front-End Developer
Job Description
Biglight, an experience design agency, is seeking a talented Front-End Developer to join their team in a hybrid work environment. The role offers a unique blend of responsibilities, working with major UK brands like George at Asda. You'll be involved in building landing pages, blog posts, and responsive HTML emails using technologies like HTML, CSS, and Vanilla JS. The position involves working with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (Demandware) and WordPress, while also contributing to automation projects using Node.js, Handlebars, and SASS.
The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys problem-solving and learning new technologies, working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality code, supporting A/B testing programs using tools like Optimizely, and contributing to automation processes. The role requires strong technical skills in JavaScript, Node.js, and front-end technologies, combined with excellent attention to detail and project management abilities.

Responsibilities For Front-End Developer
- Deliver high-quality, reusable and well-documented code across client projects
- Contribute to improvement and maintenance of automation processes
- Build, test and optimize landing pages, blogs, content pages and emails
- Apply SCSS updates within automation flows
- Support creation and delivery of A/B tests to improve conversion rates
- QA and review code to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Explore opportunities to extend automation with AI and other modern tools
- Collaborate closely with project teams
- Proactively flag challenges and contribute solutions
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices
Requirements For Front-End Developer
- Advanced knowledge of Vanilla JavaScript, Node.js, HTML/CSS, SCSS
- Familiarity with task runners (Gulp, Webpack, Grunt)
- Strong cross-browser and device testing skills
- Understanding of REST APIs and AJAX
- Proficiency with Git version control
- Previous experience as a Front-End Developer
- Ability to work under pressure with competing deadlines
- Experience with A/B testing tools (Optimizely, Monetate, Qubit, VWO) - Desirable
- Experience building responsive HTML emails - Desirable
- Familiarity with templating languages - Desirable
- Knowledge of React, Gatsby or other modern frameworks - Desirable
- Awareness of cloud deployment - Desirable
