B_labs, the digital transformation arm of B.TECH, is seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer to lead their technical infrastructure and automation initiatives. As a cornerstone of the Egyptian retail industry, B.TECH is evolving to become the leading omni-channel platform for consumer electronics and appliances in Egypt. The Staff DevOps Engineer will be responsible for defining and implementing the organization's DevOps strategy, managing multi-cloud architectures, and establishing best practices for infrastructure, security, and automation. You'll lead initiatives in Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD frameworks, and observability while ensuring compliance with international standards.
The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of DevOps experience, deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and advanced knowledge of Kubernetes, service mesh, and modern DevOps tools. You'll need strong leadership skills to mentor team members and influence organization-wide technical decisions.

Responsibilities For Staff DevOps Engineer
- Define and drive the DevOps vision and long-term strategy for the organization
- Act as a technical authority and decision-maker for infrastructure, automation, and tooling
- Influence architecture decisions to ensure scalability, security, and high availability
- Lead design and management of multi-region, multi-cloud architectures
- Oversee Infrastructure as Code at scale
- Architect disaster recovery and business continuity solutions
- Architect organization-wide CI/CD standards and frameworks
- Lead automation initiatives to improve build, test, and deployment efficiency
- Set enterprise-level observability standards
- Lead complex incident response and root cause analysis
- Partner with security teams to embed DevSecOps practices
- Define and enforce infrastructure security policies
- Lead compliance efforts for SOC2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA
- Mentor senior and mid-level DevOps engineers
- Help recruit, onboard, and develop engineering talent
Requirements For Staff DevOps Engineer
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure roles
- Strong multi-cloud expertise (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Deep knowledge of IaC tools: Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, Ansible
- Advanced Kubernetes and service mesh experience
- Leadership in CI/CD using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Spinnaker
- Hands-on with monitoring/logging tools
- Scripting/automation in Bash, Python, or Go
- Strong in networking, zero-trust security, IAM, RBAC, VPNs, and firewalls
- Excellent mentorship, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Preferred certs: AWS SA-Pro, AWS DevOps Pro, CKA, CKAD, Azure DevOps Expert, Google Cloud DevOps
- Experience with global infrastructure scaling and high-availability architecture
