Job Description

Blackbird Interactive, an independent game studio, is seeking an Associate Gameplay Software Engineer for a 7-month contract position. The role focuses on developing gameplay features using Unreal Engine 5, with opportunities to work on both world-class IPs and original creations. The position offers a unique four-day work week policy and flexible work arrangements including remote work within Canada.

The ideal candidate will join a team working on core gameplay systems including movement, combat, and progression. This growth-oriented role comes with built-in mentorship and hands-on experience using C++ and Blueprints in UE5. You'll collaborate closely with senior engineers, designers, and animators to create and refine engaging gameplay features.

The position requires 1-2 years of experience with C++ and familiarity with Unreal Engine. Educational requirements include a BSc in Computer Science or related diploma. The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $70,000 to $95,000 annually, with the flexibility of remote work (requiring Pacific time zone overlap).
