Job Description
Blacksmith is a cloud infrastructure provider that helps companies accelerate their CI (GitHub Actions) processes while reducing costs. The company's mission is to build a CI cloud, unbundling CI workloads from hyperscaler clouds like AWS, GCP, and Azure. Blacksmith orchestrates millions of VMs monthly for CI jobs across a fleet of bare metal hardware, serving over 900 fast-growing startups, including Supabase, UserTesting, and Ashby.
The Product Engineer role involves working closely with design to build polished, high-performance UIs, focusing on browser performance, rendering bottlenecks, and complex component architecture. The role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to an early-stage startup, impacting its growth and direction.
The compensation range for this position is $200K - $300K. Blacksmith provides premium health, dental, and vision coverage, 16 weeks of paid parental leave, unlimited PTO, a birthday-off policy, a Michelin-star dinner on your birthday, and a 401(k) plan to help you save for retirement.

Requirements
- Strong CS fundamentals and a deep understanding of React and modern frontend development
- Can work closely with design to build polished, high-performance UIs
- Not afraid to go deep on browser performance, rendering bottlenecks, or complex component architecture
- 3+ years of software development experience
- Enjoy working in person 5 days a week in NYC or SF
- Enjoy working at a very early-stage startup and are comfortable with ambiguity
- Dabbled in your own side hustles or start-up projects
- Comfortable creating new processes and iterating on them quickly
