Chief Software Engineer (Virtual)

Tapestry Solutions, a Boeing Company subsidiary with over 30 years of experience, is seeking a Virtual Chief Software Engineer to lead mission-critical software development for the US Air Force. This role combines the resources of Boeing with a small business culture, supporting defense and government customers worldwide. The position focuses on developing and maintaining Mission Planning Systems for various military aircraft platforms, transitioning solutions to an Open Mission System Architecture using modern technologies like Kubernetes and containerization.

The role requires leading a team of 25 engineers, engaging with government stakeholders, and overseeing all aspects of the software development lifecycle. You'll be responsible for architectural decisions, implementing modern software frameworks, and ensuring delivery through CI/CD pipelines. The work directly impacts US military and Foreign Military Sales customers' ability to plan and execute missions effectively.

Key technical requirements include extensive experience with C#/.NET, modern software patterns, and Agile methodologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading software teams, presenting to customers, and working with containerization and microservices architectures. Security clearance requirements and U.S. Person status are mandatory due to the nature of the work.
