Senior Software Validation Engineer
Job Description
BorgWarner, a global leader in innovative and sustainable mobility solutions, is seeking a Senior Software Validation Engineer to join their team in Beijing. This role combines software engineering expertise with automotive systems knowledge, focusing on ECU (Electronic Control Unit) validation and testing.
The position involves working independently as a test and validation engineer for ECUs, collaborating closely with the development team to understand and implement customer requirements. The role encompasses creating comprehensive software validation plans, executing tests, and producing detailed validation reports. A key aspect of the position is supporting software engineers with troubleshooting and quality assurance, as well as conducting in-vehicle verification testing.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive engineering with at least 5 years of experience, along with solid programming skills in C and expertise in CAN diagnostic tools. Knowledge of AUTOSAR and Vector CAN tool scripting (CAPL) would be advantageous. The role requires excellent English communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities For Senior Software Validation Engineer
- Take part in ECU customer requirement and software requirement review
- Create validation test plan and test cases according to customer requirement and software requirement
- Carry out validation test and generate test report
- Test result analyzing and tracking
- Support ECU hardware supplier for hardware validation
- AWD system integration test and calibration
- Verify AWD system function in customer vehicles
- Complete AWD system integration test report
- Develop auxiliary testing tools
- Responsible for development of test bench and wire harness
- Develop test script for automation test
Requirements For Senior Software Validation Engineer
- BS-Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Automotive Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of automotive engineering experience
- Solid knowledge of C programming language
- Knowledge of CAN diagnostic/network management related spec
- Experience working with Vector CAN tools
- Excellent English skills
- Experience of Vector CAN tool script language (CAPL) (preferred)
- Experience in AUTOSAR software development and configuration (preferred)
