Job Description
Broadcom's Brocade Switch and Networking (BSN) business unit is seeking a Senior Software QA Test Engineer to join their team in Broomfield, CO. This role focuses on testing and verifying Brocade's SAN-based networked solutions, particularly the Fabric OS and associated hardware switching platforms. The position offers a competitive salary range of $108,000 - $172,800, along with comprehensive benefits including medical coverage, 401(k) matching, and equity compensation.
The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of software testing experience and deep knowledge of networking protocols, SAN/Storage systems, and automation skills. Responsibilities For R&D SW Quality Engineer
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand technical specifications and design comprehensive test plans
- Assess test progress and advise area leads and management on test and quality status
- Work closely with development teams to identify, document, and track software defects using JIRA
- Communicate effectively with management and cross-functional teams regarding test progress and results
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and performance testing
Requirements For R&D SW Quality Engineer
- Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of hands-on software testing experience
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies
- Strong IP networking and troubleshooting skills and protocol knowledge (L2/L3/L4)
- SAN/Storage knowledge
- Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Linux, Windows, and VMWare
- Proficient in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python) for test automation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Position requires 100% on-site attendance
