Description For Mechanical Engineer

Burro, the leading robotics company in outdoor automation, is revolutionizing agriculture with their autonomous ground vehicles. Headquartered in Philadelphia with a presence in central California, Burro is backed by prominent investors including Toyota Ventures and S2G. Their robots, likened to a real-world Wall-E for agriculture, provide carrying, towing, and scouting capabilities, addressing critical labor shortages in farming.

As a Mechanical Engineer at Burro, you'll join a mission-driven team developing cutting-edge robotics solutions. The role combines hands-on hardware development with strategic thinking, as you'll design and test mechanical systems that scale to thousands of units. You'll work cross-functionally with electrical and embedded systems teams while maintaining close collaboration with manufacturing to ensure high-quality production.

The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of experience in robotics, automotive, or agricultural industries, with strong expertise in both 3D and 2D CAD. This role offers an opportunity to make a direct impact on the future of agricultural automation while working with a diverse, innovative team. The position includes competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and the chance to earn equity in a rapidly growing startup.

Working from the Philadelphia office, you'll be at the forefront of developing technology that's already making a difference, with a growing fleet deployed in commercial use across vineyards, nurseries, and berry farms. This role is perfect for someone who combines technical expertise with a passion for solving real-world challenges through robotics innovation.
