Job Description

Cadence Design Systems is seeking a Lead Product Engineer to join their Design IP Group, focusing on advanced high-speed SerDes IP products. This role represents a unique opportunity in a rapidly growing team, combining technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities.

The position involves working directly with customers on complex integration challenges for high-speed SerDes IP implementations. You'll be responsible for reviewing integration guidelines, providing training, and helping customers resolve various technical issues from floorplan to silicon bring-up. This hands-on role requires deep technical knowledge of SOC design flows, mixed-signal PHY integration, and advanced process technologies.

As a Lead Product Engineer, you'll serve as a crucial bridge between customers and the R&D team, providing valuable feedback for product improvements and contributing to future specifications. The role demands both technical excellence and strong communication skills, as you'll be generating technical documentation and working closely with customers throughout their design process.

Responsibilities For Lead Product Engineer

  • Engage with IP customers to review high speed Serdes IP integration guidelines
  • Provide integration training and recommendations to customers
  • Help resolve IP integration issues including floorplan, functional and DFT simulations
  • Conduct design integration reviews on customers' major SoC design milestones
  • Help customer bring up high speed Serdes IPs on customer's SOC silicon
  • Support customer silicon debug and improve Serdes performance
  • Provide feedback to R&D team on product issues and improvements
  • Generate technical specifications, datasheets, and application notes

Requirements For Lead Product Engineer

  • M.S. Electrical/Computer Engineering (or similar degree)
  • 5+ years of experience working with high-speed SerDes and PHYs
  • Familiar with SOC full chip integration design flows
  • Strong ability to analyze and resolve IP integration issues
  • Knowledge of SOC design tools
  • Experience with advanced process technology nodes (7nm and below)
  • Knowledge of high-speed Serdes and serial link architecture
  • Proficient in automation scripting tools like Perl
  • Knowledge of package/board signal integrity (plus)
  • Hands on post-silicon experience (plus)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
