Description For Sensor Software Engineer

CAE USA, a leading provider of defense and security solutions, is seeking a Sensor Software Engineer to join their Tampa-based team. This role focuses on developing real-time aerospace and aircraft systems simulations for military training devices, specifically working on Targeting Pods and Electronic Warfare solutions.

The position offers an opportunity to work on meaningful projects that directly support U.S. Armed Forces and international partners. As a Sensor Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and integrating sophisticated simulation models while working alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience, strong C++ programming skills, and experience with Linux development. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required. The role demands strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities For Sensor Software Engineer

  • Design, develop, integrate, and test Targeting Pod and Electronic Warfare models
  • Apply software engineering principles to complete assigned tasks within budget and schedule
  • Maintain, upgrade, and improve existing Targeting Pod and Electronic Warfare models
  • Work with senior engineers to understand tasking and complete work
  • Analyze legacy Targeting Pod and Electronic Warfare models
  • Contribute to development and deployment of training systems

Requirements For Sensor Software Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • DoD Secret Clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming techniques and design patterns
  • Experience with developing software for Linux
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
