Job Description

CAE, a global leader in defense, security, civil aviation, and healthcare, is seeking a Sensor Software Engineer to join their Defense & Security business unit in Arlington, TX. This role focuses on designing and developing real-time aero and aircraft systems simulations for military training devices, with a specific emphasis on Targeting Pods and Electronic Warfare solutions.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work on meaningful projects that directly support U.S. Armed Forces and international partners. As part of the Passive Sensors team, you'll be involved in full life cycle software engineering, from design to integration and testing. The role requires strong technical skills in C++, Linux, and object-oriented programming, combined with the ability to work independently while collaborating with senior engineers.

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience, a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, and must be eligible for a DoD Secret Clearance. Responsibilities For Sensor Software Engineer

  • Design, develop, integrate, and test Targeting Pod and Electronic Warfare models
  • Apply software engineering principles within budget and schedule commitments
  • Work with senior engineers to complete work with limited direction
  • Maintain, upgrade, and improve existing Targeting Pod and Electronic Warfare models
  • Analyze legacy models to understand functionality and modify for new requirements
  • Contribute to team environment
  • Comply with security and data protection policies

Requirements For Sensor Software Engineer

Linux
  • DoD Secret Clearance required
  • Must be able to obtain Special Program Access
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming techniques
  • Experience with developing software for Linux
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Strong C/C++ skills
