Platform Engineer - Python/Java/AWS/Linux

Captivation Software is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer with expertise in AWS, Python programming, and a strong Linux foundation. The ideal candidate will contribute significantly to developing custom software components and integrating open-source code to address complex time series analysis problems using cutting-edge Big Data / Cloud technology.

Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as a strong systems integrator, identifying opportunities to enhance, optimize, or increase robustness of existing code bases
• Leveraging modern tools to define, build, and manage virtual infrastructure in the cloud
• Designing and implementing core architecture and capabilities for software from prototype to operational applications

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering or Software Development (Python or Java)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience developing infrastructure in AWS
• Solid understanding of Linux systems, hosts, networks, security, and applications
• Proficiency in shell scripting (Shell/Bash)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Current TS/SCI U.S. Government Security clearance
• U.S. citizenship

The role offers a competitive salary range of $130,000 - $270,000, depending on experience, along with excellent benefits including a generous 401k contribution, health insurance, and paid time off.
