Responsibilities For Principal Network Engineer
- Work with Tech leadership in supporting company-wide initiatives
- Lead efforts to solve tech-wide problems
- Collaborate with colleagues in design, product management, and systems architecture
- Influence direction within the organization contributing to CarMax Strategic Plan
- Partner with leadership to evolve the platform using engineering and agile practices
- Stay current with industry trends and lead new ideas and best practices
- Drive strategic initiatives and solve complex problems
- Empower and encourage engineers to push beyond their limits
- Share knowledge through blogs, white papers, and speaking at conferences
Requirements For Principal Network Engineer
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of work experience in Network, Cloud Network, software engineering
- 5+ years of working in and building Infrastructure within cloud platform - Azure and Akamai
- 4+ years scripting or coding experience with network automation languages
- 4+ years experience in Routing, Switching, Firewall and WiFi
- Deep technical experience in infrastructure, cloud, networking, and automation
- Experience leading engineering efforts across multiple teams
- Implementation experience with Azure networking for enterprise organizations
- Experience building hybrid environments spanning existing networks and Azure
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
