CDW is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for their Managed Services team to manage and maintain IT infrastructure environments for customers. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, focusing on network infrastructure, enterprise data storage systems, and virtualized environments.
The position is based in Santa Barbara, CA, offering a hybrid work arrangement with a salary range of $85,000 - $148,190 plus a 10% annual bonus target. The role requires the ability to work onsite at the Goleta, CA data center and various regional locations, providing critical "Smart Hands" support for equipment maintenance and installations.
As a Senior Engineer, you'll be responsible for implementing and maintaining complex network solutions, participating in 24x7 on-call rotations, and leading various client projects to improve technology infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in enterprise-level routing and switching technologies, WAN technologies, and demonstrated problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities For Sr. Engineer - Managed Services - Network - SmartHands
- Provide implementation, upgrades, tuning, back-ups, restores, user management and technical support services
- Provide on-site support for remote equipment maintenance and installation
- Follow change control, incident response, and testing processes
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation
- Lead client projects to improve/upgrade technology infrastructures
- Design and implement complex solutions including automation
- Conduct throughput analysis and infrastructure planning
- Serve as technical lead for customer engagements
- Mentor and support peers within the team
Requirements For Sr. Engineer - Managed Services - Network - SmartHands
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of IT infrastructure engineering experience, OR 9 total years of IT engineering experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise level routing and switching technologies
- Strong network problem determination and resolution skills
- Experience with WAN technologies
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel as needed
- Experience in large data center environment (preferred)
- Cisco certifications preferred (CCNP or CCNA)
- Security certifications preferred (Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto)
