Chime, a pioneering fintech company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Data to join their Data engineering team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of financial technology through data-driven solutions. The position comes with a competitive salary range of $176,490 to $245,100, plus comprehensive benefits.
As a Senior Software Engineer, Data, you'll be instrumental in building and scaling Chime's data platform, which is crucial for the company's mission to help people achieve financial progress. The role involves designing and implementing sophisticated ETL pipelines, managing data warehouse schemas, and ensuring data quality and governance across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of extensive experience in data engineering, with proven expertise in technologies like Spark, AWS Glue, EMR, Airflow, and Python. You should have a strong track record of working with MPP database systems such as Snowflake or AWS Redshift, and experience collaborating with Analytics, Data Science, and DevOps teams.

Responsibilities For Senior Software Engineer, Data
- Build, scale and optimize ETL pipelines
- Design data warehouse schemas and scale data warehouse process data for 10x data growth
- Own all aspects of data - data quality, data governance, data and schema design, data quality and security
- Own schema registry and dependency chart for persistent data
- Own the ETL workflows and ensure pipeline meets data quality and availability requirements
- Work closely with partner teams, like Data Science, Analytics and DevOps
Requirements For Senior Software Engineer, Data
- 5+ years experience transforming data to governed and lucid datasets
- 5+ years of hands-on experience to build and deploy production-quality data pipelines
- 5+ years of experience working with stakeholders to provide business insights
- 5+ years of experience writing Spark, AWS Glue, EMR, Airflow, Python
- 3+ years of hands-on experience using any MPP database system like Snowflake, AWS Redshift or Teradata
- Track record of successful partnerships with Analytics, Data Science and DevOps teams
- Understanding of key metrics for data pipelines and has built solutions to provide visibility to partner teams
