As a Full-Stack Robotics Engineer Intern, you'll be immersed in one of the world's most advanced electronics assembly systems. This isn't a typical "shadow and observe" internship - you'll be hands-on in the factory, working directly with hardware and software systems in live production. You'll contribute to real projects like tuning camera networks, debugging robot reliability, and prototyping mechanical and software fixes.
The role is perfect for students or early-career engineers with practical experience in robotic or mechatronic systems. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including Python for control and automation, Beckhoff TwinCAT for industrial PLC integration, SolidWorks/Fusion 360 for mechanical design, and GigE Vision for industrial sensors and motion control systems.
Located in South Deerfield, Massachusetts, this 10-12 week paid summer internship offers unique exposure to frontier robotics and automation at factory scale. Responsibilities For Full-Stack Robotics Engineer Summer 2026 Intern
- Configure and debug distributed GigE vision system
- Analyze end effector behavior from video and prototype design tweaks
- Build and deploy small test rig for in-line PCB validation
- Collect performance data to inform automation roadmap
- Tune camera networks
- Debug robot reliability issues
- Prototype mechanical and software fixes
- Run experiments to push throughput higher
Requirements For Full-Stack Robotics Engineer Summer 2026 Intern
- Experience building robots, automation systems, or mechatronics projects
- Skills in mechanical CAD, Python or C++, and basic electronics/debugging
- Experience troubleshooting under pressure (competitions, labs, hackathons, jobs)
- Ability to think in systems and diagnose problems from first principles
- Can work autonomously and communicate clearly to a team
