Cisco is seeking a Software Consulting Engineer Intern to join their team in RTP, North Carolina. This role offers an opportunity to work on next-gen software innovations in cloud, mobile, desktop, or security spaces. The intern will collaborate with teams such as Engineering, Information Technology, Supply Chain, Customer Experience, and Security and Trust.
As a Software Consulting Engineer Intern, you will:
- Drive solution delivery improvements through automation, testing, and best practice implementation
- Interact with professional services delivery, Product Management, and BU teams
- Collaborate on transformational initiatives to define and improve new delivery methodologies
The ideal candidate should have:
- Knowledge of Linux, networking concepts, OS fundamentals, embedded development, and/or ML
- Programming skills in C/C++, Python, and Java
- Experience with QA, testing, and debugging
- Familiarity with databases, web application development, and web services

- Drive solution delivery improvements through automation, testing and best practice implementation to optimize deployments, accelerate customer value-realization and improve overall service reliability
- Interact with professional services delivery, Product Management and BU teams to integrate automation in our offers to improve quality and customer experience
- Collaborate in transformational initiatives to define and improve new delivery methodologies in accordance with DevOps and SRE models
Requirements For Software Consulting Engineer (Intern) United States
- Including but not limited to a graduate/upcoming graduate of a technical degree or certification program from a Technical Boot Camp, Apprenticeship, Community College or 4-Year University
- Knowledge of Linux, Networking concepts, OS fundamentals, Embedded Development, and/or ML
- Up-to-date on programming and scripting languages: C/C++, Python, Java
- Hands on QA, Testing, and/or Debugging skills
- Fluent in English (oral and written skills)
- Experience with Databases, Web Application Development, and Web Services
- Able to legally live and work in the country for which you're applying, without visa support or sponsorship
