Software Engineer I (Co-Op)

Cisco is seeking a Software Engineer I (Co-Op) to join their team. This role offers an opportunity to work on next-gen software innovations in cloud, mobile, desktop, or security spaces. You'll get hands-on experience with applications that make technology accessible across devices. The ideal candidate is a software developer with exceptional communication and collaboration skills, enthusiasm for complex challenges, and strong organizational and time management abilities. You'll be part of a team driving innovation in areas such as Applications Development, Database Development, Embedded Networking and OS Development, IT, Security, Test & Quality, and Web Services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop software and tools for high-impact technology platforms
• Work on operating systems, networks, databases, and more
• Ensure programs are user-friendly and bug-free
• Consider hardware compatibility and potentially influence design

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Proficiency in programming languages: C/C++, Python, and/or Java
• Hands-on QA, Testing, and/or Debugging skills
• Ability to legally work in the country without visa support or sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Linux, Networking concepts, OS fundamentals, Embedded Development, and/or ML
• Experience with Databases, Web Application Development, and Web Services
• Knowledge in Computer Networking and/or Cybersecurity
• Familiarity with Cloud Platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
