Job Description

Clarios, the global leader in advanced energy storage solutions and creator of the VARTA® brand, is seeking a Lead Engineer Electrical Design to join their team in Hannover, Germany. This role is crucial for the electronic design and development of battery management and ultra-capacitor systems.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in the automotive industry, specifically focusing on advanced battery solutions. As a Lead Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, testing, and verifying electrical systems while ensuring compliance with automotive functional safety and ASPICE processes.

The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of professional engineering experience, with specific expertise in schematic capture tools like Altium, electronic circuit debugging, and requirement management tools. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required, along with fluency in English and preferably B2-level German language skills.

Responsibilities For Lead Engineer Electrical Design

  • Review customer specifications and establish product electrical requirements
  • Perform requirement analysis and validation planning activities
  • Conduct design verification activities
  • Create core and customer electronic circuit designs
  • Generate technical requirements of electrical architecture
  • Generate hardware/software interface specifications
  • Design and test vehicle level electrical and electromagnetic performance
  • Lead technical investigations and resolutions of electrical component issues
  • Develop relationships with suppliers
  • Work independently while managing tasks and responsibilities

Requirements For Lead Engineer Electrical Design

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 5 years of professional engineering experience
  • Experience with schematic capture (Altium)
  • Experience with electronic circuit debug, test, and simulation tools
  • Experience with requirement management tools (Doors or Jama)
  • OE Automotive/Tier 1 experience with powertrain systems/components
  • Experience with Lithium-Ion battery systems
  • Solid communication and organizational skills
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office Suites)
  • Fluency in English is required
  • German language skills (B2 level preferred)
