Founding ML / AI Engineer

Confido is building an AI-native operating system for brands that sell into brick-and-mortar retail. We're building intuitive and powerful software paired with AI agents that help brands automate thousands of hours of tedious manual work involved in scaling a brand in retail. Major brands like Baskin Robbins and Olipop use our first products in accounting and planning to manage billions in retail revenue.

As our Founding Staff ML/AI Engineer, you'll be setting the foundation for our AI/ML capabilities, working across both LLMs and advanced machine learning. You'll own the full AI/ML lifecycle from research and prototyping to production deployment and monitoring.

Key projects include:

• Developing agentic systems to retrieve information from legacy systems
• Leveraging NLP and LLMs to understand complex documents
• Predicting brand sales using advanced machine learning techniques
• Detecting anomalies in sales data to help brands sell more
• Recommending optimal promotions for brands at retailers

The ideal candidate brings:

• Minimum 2 years of applied AI/ML experience, preferably in a startup environment
• Strong product mindset with ability to bridge AI capabilities and real-world usage
• Experience fine-tuning LLMs (Llama, GPT) and designing AI prompt workflows
• Strong background in ML systems design and engineering best practices
