Cubic Transportation Systems is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to provide advanced technical leadership and systems engineering management for complex hardware and software systems. The position offers a competitive salary range of $126,000 - $170,000 plus comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision insurance, 401k with company match, and up to 6 weeks of paid parental leave. The role is based in either New York or Jersey City, with opportunities for domestic and international travel.
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you'll lead technical teams in system design, development, and integration efforts, while serving as a technical consultant and subject matter expert. The role requires expertise in test automation, programming languages like Java or Python, and systems modeling tools. Responsibilities For Senior Systems Engineer
- Lead and guide technical teams in requirements decomposition, system design, development, and integration efforts
- Tackle complex issues using advanced analysis and problem-solving skills
- Serve as a technical consultant and project/program-level subject matter expert
- Act as a liaison with customers and external partners
- Lead risk assessments, trade studies, and system modeling
- Lead the development of system verification and validation plans
- Lead the Business-2-Business (B2B), Inspection Device & Application, and Production Tier 4 workstreams
- Mentor junior team members
- Actively contribute to proposal efforts
Requirements For Senior Systems Engineer
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, 6 years with a Master's degree, or 3 years with a PhD
- Advanced knowledge of systems engineering principles
- Experience with Automated Fare Collection (AFC) and/or Transportation Systems
- Experience with B2B applications and interfaces
- Experience in test automation (JUnit/TestNG, Selenium, TestComplete, Jenkins, TestRail)
- Programming languages such as Java or Python
- Knowledge of XML, SQL, and API testing (SOAP, REST)
- Proficiency with systems modeling tools (UML, SysML, DOORS)
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
