At Databricks, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Trust & Safety team, focusing on compliance and security engineering. This role is crucial in our mission to build the most trusted data analytics and ML platform in the world. The position requires a seasoned professional with 5+ years of experience in Data Security and distributed systems. You'll be responsible for identifying and addressing security gaps in our infrastructure, leading security initiatives, and representing Databricks at industry events. The ideal candidate should have expertise in areas such as Cryptography, Kubernetes Security, Web Security, Governance, Privacy, and Identity Management.

As a Senior Software Engineer in our Compliance team, you'll work on critical security features that protect customer data and maintain the integrity of our platform. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead security initiatives, and help shape the security strategy of our products. The role offers competitive compensation ($165,300 - $237,800 USD), comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology.

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Security or related areas
  • Expertise in two or more: Cryptography, Kubernetes Security, Web Security, Governance, Privacy, Trust, Safety, Authentication, Identity Management, Access Control, Key Management
  • 5+ years of experience building large scale distributed systems with high availability
  • Leadership skills and experience to lead across functional and organizational lines
  • Strong communication skills
  • MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related fields
