Job Description

Databricks is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Money team, focusing on maximizing customer value through innovative commercialization strategies and cutting-edge engineering. The role involves working on critical billing and usage systems that support Databricks' global customer base across major cloud providers (AWS, GCP & Azure).

The Money team's mission is to provide seamless, accurate, and customizable billing experiences, along with sophisticated budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization tools. As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll be deeply involved in the entire billing process, from usage ingestion to payments and reporting. You'll work with cross-functional teams to standardize billing experiences and create a unified "sky computation" experience.

The position requires strong technical leadership, experience with distributed systems, and the ability to drive innovation in billing and pricing strategies. You'll use cutting-edge technologies, including AI and LLMs, to improve cost insights and optimization. The role offers competitive compensation ($182,400 - $247,000), comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to work at one of the fastest-growing SaaS companies.

Ideal candidates should have a strong computer science background, proven experience in building large-scale distributed systems, and excellent leadership skills. You'll join a company that's transforming how organizations leverage data and AI, working alongside the original creators of Apache Spark™ and other industry leaders.
