Controls Engineer

Dematic, a member of the KION Group, is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team in Shah Alam, Malaysia. The position combines electrical engineering expertise with software development, focusing on PLC programming, system integration, and automation control systems. As a Controls Engineer, you'll be responsible for the full lifecycle of control systems - from initial specification and design through to implementation, testing, and customer handover.

Your daily responsibilities will span technical design work, including developing PLC programs and creating electrical schematics, while also managing practical aspects like budget control and installation supervision. You'll work directly with clients and cross-functional teams, requiring both technical expertise and strong communication skills.

The ideal candidate should possess a degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, with hands-on experience in PLC programming (particularly with TIA Portal, Ladder, SCL, STL), electrical system design using tools like EPLAN or AutoCAD, and knowledge of industrial automation protocols and safety systems. Experience with materials handling systems and their integration with third-party equipment is crucial.
