Description For Turbomachinery Engineer

Destinus is an aerospace technology company founded under the belief that in the future distance shouldn't matter at all. We are building near-space vehicles and associated infrastructure. Our hydrogen-powered cars move at the border of Space, ten times faster than conventional aircraft, providing a just-in-time backbone for logistics, e-commerce, and supply chain companies.

The R&D Team is searching for experienced engineers to take up the position of Turbomachinery Engineer. This is a key position for developing next-generation turbomachinery solutions. The role involves:

  • Mechanical design of gas turbine components and assemblies
  • Performing FEA simulations and basic calculations to support the design process
  • Participating in and/or leading technical investigations
  • Setting up and qualifying suppliers and manufacturing processes
  • Managing development projects and tasks
  • Mentoring junior engineers
  • Providing technical support to Supply chain, Operations, and Field Service

Requirements include:

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar (MEng, MSc, or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge in mechanical design of gas turbine components
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Software skills including SolidWorks or equivalent
  • Experience with FEA
  • Knowledge about high-temperature materials and manufacturing processes is advantageous
  • Experience in lifetime assessments of gas turbine components is beneficial
