Job Description

The Walt Disney Company is seeking a Data Engineer to join their Decision Science & Integration (DDSI) team. This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, advanced analytics, and technology integration, helping partners explore opportunities for analytics, shape business decisions, and drive value. The Data Engineering team is responsible for partnering with Decision Science Products, Decision Science, Client and Technology team members on various development and sustainment projects.

As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and producing datasets for science models and visualizations. You'll work with technologies including PostgreSQL, Snowflake, SQL, Python, Docker, and GitLab. The role requires both technical expertise and business domain understanding to deliver effective solutions.

The position offers the opportunity to work with large datasets and cloud technologies, particularly in the context of Disney's Theme Parks and Resorts data. Responsibilities For Data Engineer

  • Develop, implement, enhance and support data solutions
  • Gather data requirements and create source-to-target mapping
  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines
  • Monitor data quality
  • Produce datasets for science models and visualizations
  • Manage batch/orchestration job scheduling
  • Communicate data engineering progress to project leadership

Requirements For Data Engineer

Python
PostgreSQL
  • 3+ years of overall technical experience
  • Experience with ELT/ETL data pipeline development and maintenance
  • Proficiency in SQL coding
  • Experience and expertise using Python, Snowflake and/or Postgres
  • Prior experience gathering and refining data requirements
  • Experience leveraging job scheduling software like Apache Airflow
  • Experience developing in multi deployment environment
  • Experience managing and deploying code using GitLab/GitHub
  • Bachelor's degree in Advanced Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or comparable field
