Job Description

The Data Engineering position within the Disney Decision Science & Integration (DDSI) team offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of business strategy, advanced analytics, and technology integration. As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining data pipelines, working with various technologies including PostgreSQL, Snowflake, SQL, Python, Docker, and GitLab.

The role involves collaborating with Decision Science Products, Decision Science, Client and Technology team members on development projects, sustainment work, ad-hoc requests, and prototyping initiatives. You'll be handling data requirements gathering, source-to-target mapping, ETL/ELT pipeline development, data quality monitoring, and creating datasets for science models and visualizations.

This position requires strong technical skills combined with business domain understanding. You'll be working in a multi-deployment environment, using modern DevOps practices, and communicating progress to project leadership. The ideal candidate should have 3+ years of technical experience, proficiency in SQL and Python, and experience with data pipeline development.

The role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects within Disney's theme parks and resorts division, specifically dealing with resort reservations, dining reservations, and theme park attendance data. You'll be part of a team that helps partners explore analytics opportunities, shape business decisions, and drive value across the organization.

Requirements For Data Engineer

  • Experience with ELT/ETL data pipeline development and maintenance
  • Proficiency in SQL coding
  • Experience and expertise using Python, Snowflake and/or Postgres
  • Prior experience gathering and refining data requirements
  • Experience leveraging job scheduling software like Apache Airflow
  • Experience developing in a multi deployment environment
  • Experience managing and deploying code using GitLab/GitHub
  • Bachelor's degree in Advanced Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or comparable field
