Job Description
Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join their Android team, focusing on building world-class applications for Disney+ and Star+ streaming platforms.
The role involves leading the design, development, and deployment of Android applications across phones, tablets, and TVs, reaching millions of users worldwide. You'll be working in a highly collaborative environment, using modern technologies and practices including Kotlin, reactive programming, and dependency injection.
As a Lead Engineer, you'll:
- Own project delivery end-to-end, from architecture to post-release monitoring
- Drive continuous improvement in code quality and system design
- Provide technical mentorship to team members
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Monitor and troubleshoot production issues
- Manage release processes and feature rollouts
- Participate in technical planning and strategy
The ideal candidate brings:
- 7+ years of production experience with Kotlin and Android SDK
- Strong expertise in reactive programming and dependency injection
- Deep understanding of Android architecture patterns and libraries
- Experience leading projects and mentoring colleagues
- Excellence in communication and collaboration
- Background in streaming video, codecs, and DRM (preferred)

Responsibilities For Lead Software Engineer
- Lead design, development, and deployment of Android applications

Requirements For Lead Software Engineer
