Lead, Software Engineer

Technology is at the heart of Disney's past, present, and future. Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is a global organization seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join their team in Buenos Aires.

The role involves leading a team responsible for the combined status aggregation across the supply chain ecosystem, combining data from media and metadata processing pipelines. The team handles QC state tracking, auditing, and the search platform for the content supply chain.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading a team of engineers in building applications for content delivery
• Designing and building robust software applications using engineering and machine learning expertise
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and requirements
• Serving as a technical leader and setting best practices
• Mentoring team members and providing career growth opportunities
• Managing engineering health KPIs and providing on-call support

Required qualifications:

• 7+ years of software engineering experience
• Proficiency in backend development (Python, Java, JavaScript)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and Git
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Advanced level of English

Preferred skills:

• Experience with Scala, functional programming, AWS/cloud infrastructure
• Knowledge of media player integration and messaging systems
• Familiarity with web accessibility and modern web standards
• Experience with CI/CD tools
