Job Description

Technology is at the heart of Disney's past, present, and future. Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is a global organization of engineers, product developers, designers, technologists, data scientists, and more – all working to build and advance the technological backbone for Disney's media business globally.

The team marries technology with creativity to build world-class products, enhance storytelling, and drive velocity, innovation, and scalability for our businesses. We are Storytellers and Innovators. Creators and Builders. Entertainers and Engineers. We work with every part of The Walt Disney Company's media portfolio to advance the technological foundation and consumer media touch points serving millions of people around the world.

Content Platforms & Operations is responsible for the development and ongoing advancement of the technical and operational functions driving the worldwide distribution and monetization of Disney's linear networks and theatrical content. This includes Disney's media supply chain and storage, network and theatrical distribution operations, media localization, network transmission and origination, and more.

Disney Media Engineers have a clear charter: to transform the capability and flexibility of how Disney acquires, produces, and distributes content worldwide, while ensuring the highest levels of quality, efficiency, and resiliency. Engineers often find themselves at the crossroads between hardware and software-based technology and must possess a comprehensive theoretical and practical understanding of the technology that powers the generation, monetization, and distribution of all forms of consumer-facing linear and digital video/audio content.

The Media Engineer II position is perfect for an engineer with hands-on sustainment and design/build experience in content creation, production, and distribution. They are primarily focused on sustainability of existing technology, serving as tier 2 support where incidents are escalated from operations. While learning Disney's technology nuances, they may work on system integration projects, documentation, and preventative engineering.

This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge broadcast and streaming technology, contribute to world-class entertainment delivery systems, and be part of a team that powers Disney's global media presence. The position combines technical expertise with creative problem-solving in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
